One thing i do like to do is reuse items as much as possible. I tend to turn old clothing into either cleaning rags or use them for quilting but i come across a tutorial a while back, which turned an old t shirt into a tote bag. At the time i had no sewing skills so dismissed it and it was only in the last couple of years that i started to search for other options.
I come across this tutorial from Mommypotamus which i thought might help some non sewers out there who like me would dismiss crafting because our sewing skills are non existent.
These would make a lovely gift if you know someone who would appreciate a handmade item. You can buy plain t shirts really cheap and decorate them yourself. Failing that, buy out of season clothes in the sales if you would like something with a pattern on it.
I am looking for something to store big K's wool in and was looking to make a hamper for her as part of her birthday present. As this can be made as big or small as you want, i think this would be a great thing to make.
