Burt's Bees Blueberry and Dark Chocolate Lip Balm Review

I suffer from the worst chapped lips in the winter and go through a ridiculous amount of chap sticks and lip balms.

I prefer as much as possible to use natural products because i have very sensitive skin. I've been a fan of Burt's Bees for quite some time, after receiving one of their honey collection gift sets last year. The Body scrub in particular was amazing. I was very impressed and haven't looked back since. So i was pretty excited to find that that instead of the lip balm tubes i had been using they also sold little chap sticks. Handier for carrying around in my pocket as i do not always use a handbag and easier to apply when i have my hands full or in a rush.

Burt's Bees pride themselves in using natural ingredients that work. All of their products are simple packaged and labelled clearly. The website is well laid out and all ingredients are clearly marked when you click on the items too. They also make a point of mentioning that their products are all made from sustainable sources.

I was lucky enough to win this last year and have only started to use it in the last week because the weather has played havoc with my face! I figured now would be a perfect time to stick up my first product review.

Burt's Bees lip balms come in a variety of scents (flavours?) I chose the blueberry and dark chocolate stick. Im not sure if it was the revitalising part of the lip balm or the chocolate part that pulled me towards it :D

Ive been using this now for over a week. I apply it alot to be honest, and i do not think i have even made a dent in in. I can see this lasting a really long time.

As far as applying the lip balm goes, its very thick. I have a habit of applying lip balms quite thickly because i tend to rub my lips together alot (bad habit) but after ten minutes of applying i still feel like i am wearing it.
It does moisturise my lips and takes away that sore feeling when they are cracked. After a week of using my lips do feel alot healthier. They are not as dry as they were and i imagine after using for a longer period of time i would notice a big difference.

The only gripe i have is the smell. Its really strong. That is not necessarily a bad thing but for me the chocolate was very overpowering. I would have preferred a more blueberry scent. Saying that, it does not stop me popping open the lid and having a quick sniff :) I have not had any experience with the other scents but i imagine they are just as strong smelling too. From experience of the honey set, that was moderately mild in smell.

This lip balm is available from Burt's Bees or from Boots at a budget price of £3.69. Much of Burts Bees products are affordable prices making them perfect for adding to your skincare collection or just as a treat.
They currently have an offer on at the moment too. Buy 3 lip products and get one free! Well worth stocking up i think for the upcoming months.
